Apply for Support

The TMSMT would be interested to hear from young people (their parents or teachers) who would like to be considered for financial help towards their musical education.

Please check your request fits with the objectives of the Trust and then click the button below to download the application form. Completed forms should be e-mailed to schellenbergmusictrust@gmail.com
Grant Criteria

The Trustees will consider each application on its merits, keeping in mind the specific terms of the Trust’s objects.
 
  • ​The public benefit of awarding the grant.
  • The genre of music the applicant wishes to study.
  • The applicant's age.
  • The applicant's location of study or abode.
  • The musical instrument the applicant wishes to study.
  • The applicant's musical education and achievements to date.
  • Evidence that the grant will be used for tuition from a recognised educational establishment and qualified music / teaching / skilled professional.
  • Evidence of the applicant's commitment to learning, training and their ambitions, goals, future plans.
  • References from music and education professionals.
  • Confirmation that any grant will not benefit any of the trustees considering the application.
  • Financial support already available to the applicant.
  • Whether the applicant displays a talent in musical performance.
Due Diligence

  • Grants will be made through the approved application process.
  • The trustees will be satisfied that all those providing education are suitably qualified to do so by confirming that:
    • Education establishments have the necessary licenses, registrations, permissions to be publicly recognised as an educational establishment.
    • Teachers have the necessary skill, experience, qualifications and competence to be publicly recognised as a teacher.
    • Establishments and individuals are independent of the Charity and its trustees, and have no material interest in the work undertaken by the Charity.
  • The trustees will be satisfied that those providing advice or services have the necessary skill, experience, qualifications and competence to be publicly recognized as a skilled music professional.
  • Trustees will use their discretion and consider how the application aligns to the overarching charitable objects and ratify that an award would not benefit any of the trustees considering the application.
